James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez bring their visionary minds together for a cyberpunk adventure filled with hope, empowerment and cutting-edge CGI.

Set in the year 2563, Alita (Rosa Salazar) is found abandoned in a scrapyard by Dr. Ido (Christoph Waltz). The compassionate doctor realises that in this abandoned cyborg shell is a brave young woman with an extraordinary past. However, when she wakes up, she has no memory of who she is, or the world she is in, and she must learn to navigate her new life on the treacherous streets.

Joining Waltz are fellow Oscar-winners, Jennifer Connelly and Mahershala Ali, as the villainous Chiren and Vector, lending the cast clout as they pursue Alita through the dystopian Iron City.

Based on the nine-volume Japanese manga series Gunnm, the project had been a dream of Cameron’s since 1995. Desperate to bring Yukito Kishiro’s iconic art style to the big screen, the feature was delayed while filming began on his epic Titanic. Two decades on, Cameron and Rodriguez have finally succeeded in creating the visually stunning, science-fiction extravaganza that the popular original manga deserves.
