It’s May 2018, Rail Plan 2020 is ready to be unleashed on the isles, and a promise of more services and more carriages is bringing joy to commuters all around the UK. Fast-forward to June and madness has broken out.
Cancelled services, overheating carriages, crowds breaking down barriers, and Thameslink on the brink of collapse. All while this is happening, and you can’t get a fast train to St Pancras, everyone’s favourite ol’ reliable steam train, Thomas the Tank Engine, has somehow managed to travel across all five continents on his Big World, Big Adventure journey.
Thomas wants to become the first engine to travel the world, getting inspiration from a race car named Ace (voiced by Peter Andre). So he leaves Sodor and the fat conductor behind and faces off on a heroic quest that takes him across deserts, through jungles and over dangerous mountains.
However, on his journey, he meets Nia, who teaches him that you can’t get by without a little help from your friends.
One for kids of all ages, and maybe some adults who loved Thomas as much as I did as a child, and need some good news about trains for once.
