From the visionary mind of Director Ari Aster - who only last year made his debut with Hereditary - comes this dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.

The film revolves around Dani (Florence Pugh – Lady Macbeth, Outlaw King), who finds herself relying on the emotional support of her less than ideal boyfriend Christian (Jack Reynor – What Richard Did, Sing Street), after tragedy strikes her family. In a moment of despair and loneliness she decides to join him and his group of (unwelcoming) friends in their anthropological journey to a small community in Sweden for a mid-summer festival. What visually could be described as a pagan idyllic fable, becomes the background of an eye-opening experience. Be prepared for a shift of moral perspective and preconceptions, for Midsommar is as psychological as it is visceral.

A savage yet evolved slice of Swedish folk-horror, Ari Aster's hallucinatory follow-up to Hereditary proves him a horror director with no peer.
